WEF report encourages eco-friendly fuel for transport industry

A REPORT by the World Economic Forum (WEF) has revealed that if road and rail transportation were to switch to alternative or hybrid fuels, up to 175 million tonnes of carbon emissions could be saved.

A switch to eco-friendly fuels was one of the suggested 13 alternatives that could help the sector cut its carbon emissions by half.

Currently the transport and logistics industry contributes an estimated 2.8 billion tonnes or 5.5% of total emissions.
