Queensland Govt must fix trucking roads, says council

THE NORTH Burnett Regional Council has urged the Queensland Government to help improve road conditions for trucks in the region.

Mayor Joy Jensen said B-double trucks cannot access some roads and many bridges are not strong enough to carry heavy vehicles.

The mayor said there are strategic roads from Eidsvold to Cracow not accessible to B-doubles.

Councillor Jensen says the council cannot afford to fix the roads without the Government's help.

The council says it requested a meeting with the State Government weeks ago but has not heard back.
