Linfox launches new $20 million HQ

LINFOX will open its new $20 million head office in Melbourne today, a building that will set new standards in environmental management.

The building has a five-star energy rating, part of Linfox’s overall strategy to cut carbon emissions 15% by 2010.

Linfox founder Lindsay Fox emphasised his company’s strident environmental and social values.

He said Linfox leads the logistics industry in addressing the impact of operations on climate change.

He said the new building is designed to minimise power use and optimise water and waste recycling.

Lighting is controlled by movement sensors and a massive rainwater tank system waters the garden and supplies bathrooms.

Fox said the ‘green’ features complement the company’s initiatives which reduce fuel and power use in their transport and warehousing operations

Fox added the logistics industry is committed to developing its people, its strong customer partnerships and to investing in technology that leads the industry in delivering efficiency for our customer operations.

The Melbourne-based, family-owned logistics provider spans more than 250 sites across 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
