THE Heavy Vehicle Transport Technology (HVTT11) Symposium, will bring together international heavy vehicle experts to share their knowledge and debate about key issues, the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) says.
Heavy vehicle thinkers, legislators, administrators, suppliers, academics and transport organisations will be amount those attending the 11th HVTT11 Symposium in Melbourne from 14-17 March.
According to the ATA, the symposium is designed to provide an open exchange of ideas on the key themes environment, vehicle technology and design, safety, infrastructure design and operation, standards and regulations, community issues, logistics issues, productivity, heavy vehicle transport policy and freight volumes and trends.
Sessions at the symposium will highlight:
- OECD and the International Transport Forum’s report on improving safety, environmental efficiency and productivity of heavy vehicles;
- Performance based standards and the Australian experiment with PBS;
- Fast tracking innovative vehicles;
- Energy and the environment;
- Answering the question – how do we balance competing needs?
