AUSTRALIAN Trucking Association (ATA) member organisation Australia Post has released 10 stamps commemorating how ATA service has changed in 200 years, including one featuring its distinctive B-double.
The stamps feature key historic moments in the service’s history, as well as how the modern postal service is looking to the future.
One of the stamps feature the organisation’s introduction of the environmentally friendly Euro 5 Volvo FH520 prime mover.
The stamps pay tribute to the significant role trucks have played to the growth of Australia Post in the last 25 years.
During the past 10 years, Volvo prime movers have been used almost exclusively for line hauls.
The Volvo FH520 is the latest Australia Post prime mover that also meets the Euro 5 emission standard.
Today, Australia Post has more than 130 prime movers in its fleet. During their life of six years on the road (four years as line haulers and two on local duties) the trucks will travel 1.2 million kilometres.
