THE Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has dismissed proposals by an Australian Government NSW roads are not workable for the NSW grain road network.

According to ATA, the NSW government recommends identifying gaps in the grain road network to ensure higher mass limit (HML) operation is possible on all critical grain routes.

ATA says the report also identifies strategic ‘grain road network’ needs to be established making higher productivity vehicle (HPV) operation possible over time.

But ATA claims the plan is not workable as it is too costly and can be damage to roads in comparison to normal vehicles.
