Accuweigh helps fit an overload warning system to council truck

ACCUWEIGH has helped to fit an overload warning system into a tipper truck owned by the City of Canning Council in Western Australia.

Accuweigh says the PM BulkWeigh overload warning system was fitted to a Hino FM500 tipper truck, used to deliver roadbase and other materials to council work sites.

P&G Bodybuilders fitted the overload warning system to the truck while Accuweigh programmed the system using certified test masses for weighing accuracy.

According to Accuweigh, custom load cells were fitted under the hydraulic ram and under the swivel hinges at the rear of the truck to generate weight readings.

Accuweigh says the PM 1155 BulkWeigh digital weight indicator has inbuilt visual and audible warning systems to alert the driver when the Gross Vehicle Mass is exceeded or an Axle is overloaded.

The company claims other error warnings include, preventing the driver from operating the truck when the tipper body is raised and alerting the driver to unsafe tipping conditions caused by uneven ground levels.

The PM BulkWeigh overload warning system can be fitted to truck trailer combinations and allows trailers to be swapped with the system readily identifying the new trailer.

Accuweigh is the exclusive Australian distributor for the UK based PM OnBoard range of onboard truck scales and overload warning systems.
