THE Federal Government wants the Glenelg Shire to adjust the $340 million Green Triangle Freight Action Plan.

Glenelg Shire first announced the Green Triangle Freight Action Plan last April. The action plan was to prepare the road and rail freight in the southwest Victorian region to cope with growth in export trade.

Australasian Transport news reported the Federal Government denied the Glenelg Shire of the $340 million which was initially the amount to cover the costs of the plan.

The Glenelg Shire was asked to demonstrate what international benefits the action plan would have and how it would assist in a carbon constrained economy.
